Privacy Policy
Last updated September 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Supero Technologies (“Latch”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use the Latch mobile app, this website, and our smart locker services (together, the “Services”). Latch is available in the United States only.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what the Services need to work, and no more.
| Category | What it includes | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Your name, an optional nickname, your email address and profile photo, and a sign-in identifier if you sign in with Google or Apple. | To create and secure your account and to show you to the people you trade with. |
| Location | Approximate device location, with your permission. | To show nearby lockers and listings. You can decline and search manually instead. |
| Trade and listing content | Item details, photos, prices, chosen lockers, trade status and history, ratings and reviews. | To operate exchanges, resolve disputes and build reputation. |
| Messages | Text and photos you send through in-app chat. | To let you coordinate a trade without sharing personal contact details. |
| Payment information | Transaction records and payment tokens. Card numbers and bank details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe, not by us. | To take payment, hold funds in escrow and pay sellers. |
| Device and usage information | Device and app identifiers, app version, and crash and error diagnostics. | To prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms and keep the app stable. |
| Support requests | What you send us: your message, any screenshots you attach, and the trade it relates to. | To answer you and resolve disputes. |
We do not require a phone number to use the Services, and we do not ask for government identification.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Services: create trades, reserve compartments, open lockers, process payments and payouts.
- To communicate with you about your trades and account by push notification and email.
- To keep the Services safe: detect fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and act on reports and bans.
- To provide support and resolve disputes and refunds.
- To meet legal, accounting and tax obligations.
3. Your messages
In-app messages are encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not monitor or read private conversations, and access to message data is restricted to what is strictly necessary to operate and secure the Services. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. If you need our help with a dispute, you can share screenshots with our support team.
4. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and only as needed:
- Stripe, our payment processor — payments, escrow, seller payouts and the identity checks that financial regulation requires of sellers.
- Our locker network partner — compartment reservations and locker access. They receive a trade reference, not your name or contact details.
- Service providers that help us run the Services — account authentication, cloud hosting, email and push notification delivery, customer support and error monitoring. They process information only on our instructions.
We also share information with other users as the Services require: your display name or nickname, display photo, rating, feedback history and trade count are visible to people you trade with and on your public profile. Whether your real name is shown publicly is your choice in settings. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of users, the public or Latch.
5. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, handle disputes and meet our legal obligations. Trade history and messages are kept for a limited period after a trade so that disputes can be resolved. Financial records are kept for the period the law requires and then anonymized. Information tied to a ban is kept while the ban is in effect.
6. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live — including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA — you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to obtain a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
- Access and portability. You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, except information we must keep for legal reasons or to prevent fraud.
- Deletion. You can delete your account in the app. We remove or anonymize your information, except records we must keep for accounting or legal reasons, which are held for the period required by law and then anonymized.
- Permissions. Location, notifications and camera access are requested when first needed and can be changed at any time in your device settings.
To make a request, email hello@ltchapp.com. We may need to verify your identity by confirming control of your account email. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows it.
7. Security
We protect personal information with technical and organizational measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit and at rest and restricted access for our staff. Card details never touch our servers: payments are handled by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your sign-in details safe and contact us if you suspect a problem with your account.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Our Terms require users to be at least 18 years old. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact hello@ltchapp.com and we will delete it.
9. International users
The Services are offered in the United States and our systems are operated there. If you access the Services from elsewhere, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law.
10. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
